Pixie adores two things: running the Dragonfly Bookshop & Café, and swooning over her favourite crime novelist, Jacob Cotterell. So when he’s due to turn up at the shop for a signing, she’s determined to make it the event of the season — fairy lights, a roaring fire, and a crime-themed Christmas tree.

But the morning doesn’t go quite as planned.
